WASHINGTON -- The Food and Drug Administration has warned consumers not to use Celebrex as it can lead to heart attacks and strokes.
The warning is based on an analysis of data from the Food and Drug Administration, which found that Celebrex, the most popular arthritis painkiller, may increase the risk of a heart attack and stroke by 80 to 80 percent.
The FDA said in a press release that the increased risk of heart attacks and strokes in people taking Celebrex is the most common side effect of the drug.
